Dear Firend,

Attached are a page or so reviewing the remarks of the 17 speakers at our March 31 conference.   Agnico-Eagle, Goldcorp, Virginia Mines concerning Goldcorp, Entree Gold concerning Rio Tinto, Allied Nevada Gold and Duluth Metals each had particularly constructive presentations.  We had a good program, and our meeting room was "most full" for Carpenter Technology and Goldcorp that appeared to have had fewer trips to make presentations in New York than some of other large companies.

We also attached our review of the March 23rd American Forest and Paper Assn. annual capacity survey, which reflects a tedious or slow pace of paper industry capacity cuts.  Paper producers appear "in denial" in terms of the domestic demand and export contractions, which have cut demand, utilization rates, selling prices and profits.

Faithfully,

John C. Tumazos
